So here it is, 2:30 EST and I've been working on a special project all day. Then I finally start working it out with finance, getting approval from the programming teams to implement it--and the operations manager says 'Well, can you hand your work over to >, the guy who got the position you interviewd for a few weeks ago? He'll take it from here.'. The project was DONE. I had done everything--even the financial stuff which I hate.

All so this putz can take the credit to the VP.

So I ripped up the material in front of his face, told him that I was sorry to have wasted the time of everyone involved, and that the files would be deleted from my computer effective immediately. Now the ops manager says I was being melodramatic, and that he expected me to email the files to him. So I deleted it. Now he's mad at me--but you know what? I don't really care. I told him I would not accept being given assignments to pass them off to his monkey (my name for the putz who got the job) because the stupid monkey only sat around reading email and surfing the web all day.

Ops manager went to lunch, and I made sure the IT guys (who love me, thanks guys!) would tell him that the files were irrecoverable, and that unless I had a backup, they were GONE. So we'll see what happens when I get back from lunch. They can't fire me over it, fortunately, but I'm tired of being run over. Sorry I didn't post anything lately--it's been pretty busy for me.

I'll try, I really will. Just give me a little time, be a little patient, and even though I'm invisible here--I'll try to give something to you.
